India celebrated its 74th Independence Day on August 15 and for the first time, Indian Flag was hoisted at Times Square in New York City.  More than two hundred Indian Americans gathered to see our Tiranga swirled with pride. People chanted patriotic slogans and also sang India's National Anthem. This was indeed a proud momet for every Indian.  A participant said, "We have gathered here for our 74th Independence Day. It is an honour and privileged to host it here and make history for our motherland for all the diaspora around the world."
