Change We Needed! Zomato Introduces *Period Leaves* For Employees
Food delivery company Zomato has introduced period leaves for female and transgender employees. In the announcement, Zomato Chief Executive Officer Deepinder Goyal said that employees can avail 10 days of period leave per year. The step is taken to encourage a trustworthy and accepting work culture.
Goyal informed employees that you should not feel reluctant in taking period leave. In his email, he wrote, "A note for men — our female colleagues expressing that they are on their period leave shouldn’t be uncomfortable for us. This is a part of life, and while we don’t fully understand what women go through, we need to trust them when they say they need to rest this out. I know that menstrual cramps are very painful for a lot of women — and we have to support them through it if we want to build a truly collaborative culture at Zomato."
Going forward, women at Zomato can avail up to 10 period leaves in a year. This also applies to transgender people working at Zomato.?♀️

This is indeed the change that was needed. This is how Twitter react to it:
Great move! Hoping that the organisation will ensure that there is no bias (on hiring and advancement) as a result of this policy
