Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is the poster boy  of all taboo subjects in Bollywood. He started his career with a film on sperm donation and later portrayed a man suffering from erectile dysfunction. Now, this talented star will be seen playing the role of a gay man in his upcoming film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. This is known to all that the Supreme Court decriminalized homosexuality and with this film, the actor has tried to bring the conversation of LGBQT+ community  to the forefront.

However, it seems like Ayushmann didn't have enough knowledge on the topic as in the recent interview, he stated that India is a progressive country where same-sex marriage is legal.

Fact check: In 2018, the Supreme Court passed a landmark judgment decriminalizing homosexuality but same-sex marriages are not legal in India.

After Ayushmann's fiasco, people on social media started trolling him.

Later, the star apologized saying it was a genuine slip on his part. He tweeted, "A genuine slip here though I really wish same-sex marriages get legal in India."

On the professional front, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan also features Jitendra, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta and others in crucial roles. The movie is all set to hit the screens on Feb 21. He was last seen in Bala. The movie did wonderful business at the box office.
