In India, teachers are treated as Gods as they prepare kids for a better future. However, the plight of government schools came to light when the District Magistrate Devendra Kumar Pandey in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh went for a surprise inspection. He asked the English teacher to read a few lines from class 8th textbook. When she wasn't able to read it, Devendra ordered to suspend her immediately.

The District Magistrate asked teachers how will they teach students if they can't read English.

Have a look at the video:

Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Pradeep Kumar Pandey told media, "An inspection was done by District Magistrate Devendra Kumar Pandey, and I was also part of the inspection. In Classes 6 and 8, when the lessons were asked to be read in Hindi, most students were able to do that. But when the students were made to read in English, then most of them failed. Even some teachers failed to do so."

The video soon went viral on the internet people were disappointed.

Education is the basic right of every kid and along with it, students deserve to learn from qualified teachers.  The condition of education has improved in India but looking at the video, we think there is a long way to go.
