Deepika Padukone Launches Live Love Laugh's First-Ever Lecture Series On Mental Health

It was back in 2015 when Deepika Padukone first opened up about her bouts with anxiety and depression and since then the actress has been working on spreading awareness about mental health and reduce the stigma attached to the issue. The Padmaavat actress has been doing it for four years now through The Live Love Laugh Foundation. Now the actress has launched her first lecture series on the struggles of mental health.

The first lecture of the series was held in Delhi on Sunday, 15th September and was attended by her father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujala Padukone and sister Anisha among other leading personalities like actress Sharmila Tagore and award-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee. Deepika at the launch said, "It's been four years to Live Love Laugh Foundation and today we launched our first lecture series and I think we have come a long way."

Highlighting the need to speak about the issue, Deepika said, " I think the conversation has really opened up and there is less stigma then there used to be four years ago, but certainly we have a long way to go in terms of awareness and that's why we really need to keep the conversation alive."

The Ram Leela actress also expressed her acknowledgement towards the media for playing a vital role in the 'conversation about mental health'.  The 33-year-old said, "I think the media has a huge role to play in that. Especially by opening up the conversation in various ways, whether through interviews, write-ups or articles".

DP also shared a few photos from the event on her Instagram handle. The actress allured her fans in an all-white ensemble. She donned a white shirt with dramatic sleeves and pointed collar and paired it casual botton pants. She completed her look with simple eye makeup, red lip and stunning shimmery danglers. A true fashion icon in every sense!

On the work front, Deepika will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's directorial Chhapaak, playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. She will also be seen opposite hubby Ranveer Singh in sports drama 83, a biopic of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.
