Long Kurtis Will Fetch Good Marriage Proposals: Hyderabad Girls College Enforces Strict Dress Code & We Are Still In Shock

She is too fat, her complexion is dark, how will she get a good husband? After a certain age, every girl hears these lines as if finding a husband is the only thing left. It seems like our aunties and relatives were not enough to give us marriage tips as St Francis College for Women, Hyderabad is a step ahead. A new rule has been enforced by the institution according to which girls have been asked to wear kurtis below knee length with sleeves. Former alumni Zanobia Tumbi expressed her views on the same in the long Facebook post stating that student representatives were allegedly told,"a long kurti would get us good marriage proposals."

The rule came into effect from August 1 due to which many students were not allowed to enter their classes as their outfits didn't fit the bill. Now, these students are planning to protest against this new rule.

At this time when we are talking about women empowerment, this new dress code has just surprised us. The main aim of education is to empower women and to make them independent. When education institutions are doing such things, who should be trusted.

On one hand, we watched women leading India’s mission to Mars, PV Sindhu scripting history and on the other, some girls are asked to dress thinking in mind their marriage proposal.

Well, we have a long way to go.
