The movie had strong objection from Brahmin Group called "Sarv Brahmin Mahasaba" from Rajasthan. It took official statements from both Kanaga and Vijayendra Prasad, the writer who also scripted Baahubali; to settle the issue.

And now the feud between good friends Kangana and Sonu keeps on getting deeper. Kangana took a dig at his friend Sonu and stated that the actor left movie due to his issues of working under the direction of a female director and even went ahead and called him as a "Male Chauvinist".

Sonu who is also co-starring in Rohit Shetty's Simba alongside Ranveer Singh, further told media that he did not quit the film due to some gender issues or competency of female director. He said that Kangana is his friend but her playing victim card and making entire issue of male chauvinism is utterly ridiculous. He further cleared that he quit the film due to scheduling issues. He also stated that he has worked with farah Khan who is also a successful female director and is his dear friend.
We don't know who is right or who is wrong but all we can hope that it does not ruins Kangana and Sonu's friendship and also that Manikarnika does not face anymore issues like Padmavat.
