The spectacular festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is here and people are celebrating it with enthusiasm. In India, every festival has its importance. When we talk about this one, it marks birth of the beloved Hindu elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha. Known as the symbol of wisdom and prosperity, it is believed that worshipping him removes all the obstacles. Like every year, this time also people brought home the Ganpati idols. The festival is celebrated on Shukla Chaturthi of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. On the first day, people bring the idol of Lord Ganesha home chanting mantras. He is worshipped and modaks are offered as prashad. The last day is called Anant Chaturdasi on which the statues are immersed in water.

One of the best places to experience Ganeshotsav is Mumbai. From Bollywood celebs to normal people, during these days everyone can be seen enjoying different colours of this festival.
