Jabariya Jodi: Sidharth And Parineeti’s Film Lets Down A Talented Supporting Cast, Fails To Make An Impact
Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi has released today. As it was evident from the trailer, it is inspired by a phenomenon that prevails in Bihar where men are abducted and forcefully get married to girls whose parents can't afford the hefty dowry. There was a scope of satire, comedy and emotions in the movie. Will Jabariya Jodi live up to the expectations of cinema lovers? Let's find out.
Abhay Singh (Sidharth Malhotra) is in the business of extorting grooms and then forcing them to get married. He finds a silver lining in his work thinking that he picks up only those who demand dowry. Babli (Parineeti Chopra) plays his love interest. Both of them fancied each other when they were kids but circumstances didn't let them be together. Years later, they meet and rekindle their romance. However, our protagonist is scared of commitment. So, when Babli's father (Sanjay Mishra) goes off for her Jabariya Shadi, Abhay takes its charge leaving his lady love hurt. She then decides to teach him a lesson.

The movie gives you many funny moments. There are some one-liners and dialogues that will surely leave you in splits. However, the script is half-baked. Talking about music, songs of the film are amazing. Khadke Glassy is still ruling the charts.
Jabariya Jodi performances
The problem of the film lies in its central characters. Sid's USP is his handsome face. They say that it is good to see charming faces romancing on the silver screen. The actor looked little awkward in the desi look. Parineeti, on the other hand, doesn't have much to do in the film. In most of the scenes, she was just there doing nothing. Jabariya Jodi has a talented supporting cast. Aparshakti Khurrana, Jaaved Jaaefery, Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj Sood light up the entire mood whenever they come on the screen. It is hard to take eyes off them. Pari and Sid got overshadowed by spectacular performances of these amazing actors.
Director Prashant Singh manages to give us some funny scenes. He wasn't bad but at this time, when the competition is increasing, people expect from everyone.
The movie has many flaws and sometimes, it also lacks logic. The filmmaker has taken many creative liberties which may look bizarre to you. All said and done if you have nothing to do this weekend, go and watch Jabariya Jodi for a dose of laughter.
