Surbhi Chandna & Namit Khanna's Love-Hate Relationship In Sanjivani's New Trailer Will Remind You Of Dill Mill Gayye
Ever since the makers of the popular medical drama series, Sanjivani, the second season of the show, fans have been eagerly waiting for their loved doctors to make a return on the television. The first promo of the show introduced us to the new cast with the iconic whistle tune (from Dill Mill Gayye) in the background.
Now, the makers of the show have dropped the second trailer of Sanjivani 2 and it looks entertaining with a promising story and a mix of both old and new cast members. Watch the trailer of the show here before we get started with what we think is going on in the show.
The trailer begins with Mohnish Bahl (who will again be seen playing the role of Dr Shashank) entering the 'best hospital' and introducing his 'kaabil' doctors. We also meet Dr Sid (played by Namit Khanna), an 'over-smart' but a kind-hearted doctor who happens to have a soft corner for people in need. The camera then zooms into Dr Ishani (played by Surbhi Chandna) who is a rule abider and has a love-hate relationship with Dr Sid. Well, doesn't this sound a bit familiar? Isn't this the story of Dr Armaan and Dr Ridhima, the lead characters of the show Dill Mill Gayye? The pyaar main nonk-jhonk love stories have always been our favourite to watch and we simply can't wait for the show to begin.
Talking about the lead actors of the show, producer Siddharth Malhotra revealed in an interview earlier that he saw freshness in the jodi of Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna. "When I did their test together, I saw freshness in them. Today, it takes hardly any time for stagnation to step in and for the same boredom to step in. With them, I saw energy which hopefully the people will connect to. When we talk about iconic couples, it is the characters and energy that the youth look out for. I am confident about them," he said.
Dr Juhi aka Gurdeep Kohli is there in the trailer for a blink of a second but we are super ecstatic to see her again! We also spotted Rohi Roy and Sayantani Ghosh in the trailer, who we think are the senior doctors just like Dr Juhi. It is so refreshing to see all the known faces, right?
The cast has been sharing a lot of behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram. From Surbhi Chandna challenging her friends to take the Sanjivani whistle challenge to Sayantani Ghosh teaching Bengali to her co-stars. The actors have been connecting and having fun on the sets of Sanjivani 2.
Seventeen years after the first part of the show, Sanjivani 2 has will air on Star Plus on August 12, 2019.
