The most iconic movie of our time, Mr India was made in the year 1987. If we come to think of it, the movie was the first sci-fi thriller to be curated in the Bollywood industry. The movie had all the essential ingredients to be a blockbuster with an amazing hero (Anil Kapoor), a legendary & fierce villain, Mogambo (Amrish Puri) and a spectacular diva, Seema Soni (played by late actress Sridevi).

The film has given us some unforgettable songs like Sridevi's 'Hawa Hawaii' performance to Amrish Puri's oh-so-popular dialogue "Mogambo khush hua", the movie will always have our heart!

To our interest, producer Boney Kapoor and husband of the late veteran actress Sridevi has confirmed his desire to make a reboot of the film.

Revealing more about the project, Boney Kapoor told a leading daily, " The idea is to create a reboot first, and then, make a franchise of it. It needs to be made more contemporary. We have a basic structure in mind. We haven't decided on a timeline yet, but intend to make it soon."

The producer said that the film was produced on a budget of Rs 4 crores, which was massive back during the 1980s. He added, "We put up a large net near Versova beach. I was so happy with the costumes that I paid a bonus to the stylist. Amrish Puri as Mogambo was masterstroke; he brought the character alive. While Sri was considered a glamorous star earlier, the audiences' perception of her changed after Mr India - then on, she was seen as a powerful actress. Anil too became more legitimate a performer with the film. After Sri, I have even more reason to make the film now."

Mr India completed 32 years in the history of Indian cinema and we are grateful. Anil Kapoor tweeted, "It’s the best Bollywood superhero movie you have (not) seen! #32YearsOfMrIndia".

On the same day, Anil Kapoor dedicated Mr India's success to Ajay Devgan's late father Veetu Devgan, who was an action director on the sets of the film.

If the remake is ever to be made, nobody can ever match up the original version of the movie and Sridevi will surely be missed.
