Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a name that anyone and everyone in India can recognise. A legend, a designer, who has been successfully stealing our hearts and has managed to become a part of every girl's wedding dream. Dynamic and driven, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has managed to create a revolution in the world of fashion and bridal couture. With his endless pool of knowledge and ardour in Indian heritage, that got somewhere lost within the sands of time, the designer has managed to build an influential bridal couture brand.

Sabyasachi recently completed his 20th anniversary and to celebrate the milestone, the designer decided to go back in time (not literally) and re-create the magic by representing a collection that is not only close to his heart but is also the same collection that he created for his graduation from NIFT circa 1999. Sabyasachi is truly a man of wisdom and abundant knowledge. He proved the same when he decided to revisit and represent his first-ever collection again but with the addition of his years worth of experience and ideologies that are best of both worlds, now and then.

His collection "Kashgaar Bazaar" was an ode to prostitutes, khanabadosh and various other colourful people from different walks of life. His collection was not only represented by the amazing outfits he created using fine silk, heavy prints and oh-so-delicate artisan embroidery but also with the royal jewellery pieces that the designer himself created using some of the finest stones and intricate patterns. Sabyasachi also collaborated with the world known footwear designer and brand Christian Louboutin for the fourth time for his collection.

Even with millions of different elements present, never has any single collection by Sabyasachi looked the same or over the top. Every single pattern and design created by the designer is well in harmony and speaks for the designer itself. Built with layers of different patterns, fine prints, florid and brilliant embroidery every Sabyasachi outfit is a masterpiece and so is the reason for the designer being fondly called Karl Lagerfeld of India.

Like every other Sabyasachi show, the 20th-anniversary celebrations were not only the true capsulation of Indian heritage and art but it was also representing the energy of soon to be graduated Sabya from 20 years ago. The show to the audience's immense pleasure depicted Sabysachi's work on various garments. From silk pants to embellished dress, bandhani kaftans to layers of the mini bag; the designer went all out.

The show had an audience full of the country's elite names. There were celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Aditi Rao Hydari, Farhan Akhtar, Isha Ambani Piramal, Natasha Poonawalla, Janhvi Kapoor, etc. The mood for the fashion show was set with the help of what we can refer to as the designer's love for raunchy music. The high spirits and energy were enough to charge the ambience and it was all and more that one can expect from the fashion maestro.
