Mehndi or Henna is a very popular art among women. The art is traditionally practised in Asian Countries like India, Middle East, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Women apply Mehndi on weddings and various festivals like Karva Chauth, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Teej, Eid and a few others. All the Indian festivals are incomplete without a mehndi ceremony.

However, Raksha Bandhan is just around the corner and girls are desperately waiting to get mehndi patterns made on their hands for celebrating it with their dear brothers. Mehndi is used to beautify your hands, palms and legs. You can also get henna tattoos made on your collarbone, waist, shoulder or any other place you like. There are multiple henna designs available like Arabic, Pakistani or Rajasthani.

In order to break down the designs further, Arabic designs do not cover your entire hand and consist of big floral patterns whereas Indian designs are smaller, finer, cover the entire hand and always have an elephant or peacock in the pattern.
Here is a collection of 17 stunning Mehndi designs you can try for yourself depending on how heavy or light you want to go and the style you would want to opt for. This is a must checklist if you are planning to get one done this time.
