TV Star Mouni Roy On Her Role In Brahmastra: "Ayan Mukherji Had Seen Naagin & Felt I Could Play The Villain"
A film that we have been eagerly waiting for since a very long time, and is still in the queue to be released after nine months is none other than Brahmastra. The Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer, film has been in news since forever now. The movie that became one of the major reasons for sparking the romantic relationship between the two Bollywood biggies.
Well, these two for not the only ones to be hit by the cupid bow, but the similar feelings also generated on sets, between the film's director Ayan Mukherji and television actress Mouni Roy, who is playing the lead villain in the movie. Surprised?

Well, yes! We finally have some inside information on Mouni's role in her upcoming movie Brahmastra, and just like her, we are shocked too that this was coming.
The 33-year-old who became a household name with her roles in daily soaps like Devon Ka Dev... Mahadev made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar's Gold, just confirmed that she is playing the super villain in the highly awaited movie of 2019. Mouni told PTI, "I am playing the main villain in the film. What is more liberating for me is playing different characters that challenge me. I was surprised initially that they wanted me to play the villain."
Mouni also added, "Ayan Mukherji had seen something from Naagin and felt I could play the villain. So you never know what clicks with whom. As an actor, you should be willing to experiment and be versatile otherwise you can't learn and grow."

Mouni Roy has gained tremendous attention from her fans since she starting playing the lead role in Naagin and Naagin 2. However, she decided to quit the show for Naagin 3 and now we exactly know why she did that.
Talking more about the cast of the film, it also includes another legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni said, "My life is fulfilled after working with Mr Bachchan. Ranbir and Alia are sweethearts, they are too good. They are such big stars that you get scared walking on the sets. They all have been so generous, welcoming and made me feel comfortable. With great success and talent, they also have that humility and are accepting people from outside."

Brahmastra is a three-part movie with the first part starring Amitabh, Alia, Mouni and Ranbir. The film is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production.
Currently, the popular television star is busy promoting RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter opposite John Abraham where she will be seen playing his love interest. She recently announced a film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui called Bole Chudiyan and one with Rajkumar Rao called Made in China.
