  3. This movie will make you fall in love for a reason apart from that story which are the visuals. Teen rom-coms generally lack the technical brilliance because their target audience don't really demand that. But director, Susan Johnson made sure that just because it's a teen movie, it shouldn't lack the cinematic vibe.

  4. Hollywood has been plagued with the issue that there aren't enough diverse characters on screen with genuinely good roles that also aren't stereotypes. And in that aspect, this movie works as a brilliant pillar of diverse characters.
It is particularly phenomenal because it has only been over 10 days since the release of 'Crazy Rich Asians' (another diverse movie) and it's blockbuster performance on the box office. So coinciding that release with this movie is only making the Asian representation in Hollywood stronger. It's the cultural hot topic of the moment!

  5. The writing of is great, there's no doubt about that. But the characters, in particular, are wonderfully fleshed out. They are by no means one-dimensional. And no matter how big or small the role is, there's definitely something of substance to each and every person involved in the film. Things like these enhances the form of storytelling.

  6. There was a time - 80's, 90's and early 2000's when Hollywood was giving great teen movies back-to-back. In the last decade or so, they completely lost their touch and we haven't really got a genuinely good teen movie.
So, 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' is like a breath of fresh air in this beloved genre. It checks every box in terms of your expectations.
