TV Show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' Has A Spin-Off Now And It's All About Naira's Cousin *Mishti*
One of the longest-running daily soaps on Indian television, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has never failed to disappoint us as well as the TRP. The show has been a hit since the beginning while Hina Khan aka Akshara won the audience's hearts with her performance. The popular family drama has been running on Star Plus for almost a decade now.
And here we are with some big and HAPPY news for the fans again! The channel has announced that it is now going to have a spin-off, which is titled as Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, which would star actor Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma in the lead roles. Although the launch date is still not announced, a teaser for the new programme has been released on Star Plus's official Instagram account.
In the teaser video, Shivangi Joshi AKA Naira introduces the audience to her cousin Mishti. who is going to be in the lead role of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. For those who have been watching the show since a long time will recognise her as Naman and Karishma's daughter who helped her sister Naira to unite with the love of her life Kartik.
Explaining her special bond, she says," Do you remember Misti? She is my younger sister who helped in bringing Kartik and me together. We don't share blood relation but still are very close to each other's heart. And, today Mishti has some questions about relationships."
A few days ago, the producer of the show Rajan Shahi confirmed the fans about the spin-off and said that the male protagonist in the show will be played by the famous heartthrob of television, Shaheer Sheikh. He also added that he will be portraying a strong and passionate character in this show, something which he has never done before in his previous shows.
Shaheer had initially gained recognition with his roles in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and with his role of Arjuna in Mahabharat. He was also seen in the historical drama called Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali. On the other hand, the female lead Rhea Sharma, who will be playing the role of Mishti, became popular with her role of Kanak in Star Plus's show Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji.
Apart from the two popular faces on the show, Shaheer and Rhea, Ritvik Arora who gained fame from the television serial Tu Aashiqui will also be seen sharing the screen with them in the show. According to a source, it is said that the plot of the show will revolve around two brothers and two sisters; Shaheer and Ritvik who will be essaying the role of the two brothers in the television serial. However, the names of the characters and appearances are yet to be disclosed by the makers of the show.
Well, this is not the first show in the history of Indian television to have a spin-off. Earlier Kumkum Bhagya and Ishqbaaz too came with a similar concept to keep the show running on the screens since it was loved by the audiences. While Kumkum Bhagya's spin-off is titled as Kundali Bhagya and is still running on the small screen, Ishqbaaz's spin-off Dil Boley Oberoi was combined with the original show.
Meanwhile, there is a lot of updates coming from the telly-town this year! Mohena Kumari, who played the role of Keerti got engaged this month meanwhile the former lead of the show, Hina Khan is back on television doing a character, pretty opposite to that of sweet Akshara. She is currently portraying the negative role of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 and would be soon making her Bollywood debut.
