Kapoor Family Remembers Sridevi On Her First Death Anniversary With A Puja

It's been a year since we woke up to the heartbreaking news of the sudden demise of the veteran actress of Bollywood, Sridevi. The actress is and will always be missed by her family, fans and the entire Bollywood fraternity. The actress breathed last on February 24th in Dubai, where she was attending a family wedding with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi Kapoor.

She was truly a diva in every way from being the most adorable mother to being the biggest female superstar in the industry.  Ahead, of her first death anniversary as per the Hindu calendar, the Kapoor family held a puja at her house in Chennai.

Along with Sridevi's daughters, Janhvi and Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor, the puja was also attended by Anil Kapoor, her brother-in-law and also her co-star in various movies. Anil Kapoor remembered her and grieved for the loss saying," She was my brother's wife and my wife's friend as they connected really well. Whenever we met, there was always fun, laughter and humour. People like Sridevi ji are difficult to forget."He also added that her films are still being watched and pictures are still being published everywhere."She will always be missed," Anil Kapoor said.

Apart from the close family members, the prayer meeting was attended by Ajith Kumar, the Tamil actor with his wife Shalini, English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde and her husband, R Balki who is a filmmaker.

 

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak in 2018, has often expressed her feelings about her mother's death and the pain of not being with her. During one of her interviews, she said to the media, "We've lost mom and I don't think that's a loss any of us will ever get over."

She also admitted the fact that she has become closer to her half-siblings, Arjun and Anshula Kapoor after her mother passed away. Although she doesn't remember anything from those days, she does have a memory of one specific day when she felt better." We were sitting in Harsh bhaiya's (Harshvardan Kapoor) and Arjun bhaiya and Anshula didi came in- I think that was the one day when I felt like, Ok maybe we might be okay," she said.
