Don't be too surprised when you see Mickey Mouse holding some ketupat or satay sticks because... he's taking on a different look for his 90th birthday!
To celebrate the birthday of the iconic mouse we grew up watching AND our nation's birthday, the Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia) has launched the first ever Mickey Go Local campaign in Singapore.

From now till 24 August, head over to Raffles City and be delighted at the sight of 90 Singapore-style Mickey Mouse figurines hand-painted and designed by JJ Lin, Nathan Hartono, local celebs Felicia Chin, 'ah ge' Li Nan Xing and even one by our President Halimah Yacob!
Besides the month-long public exhibition, there will also be lots of exciting activities specially set-up, aligning with Raffles City's 'Arts in the City' programme.

In case you couldn't tell, his Mickey Mouse is holding a satay stick, dressed in batik and wearing ketupat shoes! Truly Singapore. Well done, Ah Ge!

Felicia Chin's version is not our favourite though.... But it does contain quite a number of Singapore elements in it! Her Mickey is repping our famous old-school Dragon playground. Interesting.
