Unique Ocean-Themed Cheesecakes By Singapore Home Baker Are Perfect For Those Who Miss Beach Vacays
It’s been at least a year and a half since many of us travelled and we’re sorely missing our quick weekend beach getaways to places like Batam and Bali. While Sentosa has its own sandy shores, resorts, and even a new floating waterpark, let’s face it - nothing quite comes close to the joy of taking a plane and chilling out somewhere that isn’t in Singapore.
Beach babes and bros who are sorely missing the sun and sea can tide themselves over by pigging out on these beautiful ocean-themed cakes at home for now. They’re made by Singapore home baker Candy Le, whose Instagram business C. Bake goes by the handle of @c.bakebyle. They’re surprisingly affordable too!

C. Bake by Le (@c.bakebyle) has a handful of offerings such as Blackout Brownies, madeleines, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Muffins, but their star product has got to be their Signature Ocean Cheesecake and we can totally see why.

The entire cake is expertly “landscaped” to look like an ocean scene, with a glassy smooth jelly-like surface in shades of blue to resemble sea water, and a sprinkle of crumbled cookies to look like sand. The alluring blue gradient is created using the natural colouring of blue pea flower extract rather than artificial dyes. Topping it off are chocolate pieces moulded in the shapes of marine organisms like fish, seashells, starfish, seahorses, and more.

As everything here is made to order, customisation shouldn’t be a problem - opt to have a heartfelt personalised message scrawled across the cake or cake board in chocolate if you wish, or let them know if you have colour preferences for the sea creature embellishments! As seen above, you can also opt for pink chocolate instead of the standard milk, white, and dark.

This wanderlust-inducing confection doesn’t just look good; As much as its design is multi-dimensional with different layers and textures, so is its flavour profile. Unlike the regular sort of cheesecake, it’s partly made using yogurt, and comes with a hint of fruitiness inside. Pick from strawberry, blueberry, grape, or raspberry based on your preferences.
You can also opt to have this in an oval shape instead of the usual circular one!

You’re probably expecting such a unique creation like this to cost a bomb - especially since other bakers in Singapore haven’t caught on to the trend - but it’s surprisingly affordable at just $40 (6-inch) regardless of the shape you choose. Self-collection at Block 248 Bishan Street 22 is free, while meet-ups at Bishan MRT cost $3. Delivery within Bishan, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Braddell, Woodleigh, and Bartley costs just $5, and $10 for most other locations.
Check out C. Bake’s full menu with prices on their Instagram page, and drop them a DM for orders and enquiries.
