New 2D Monochrome Illustration-Style Cafe In Singapore Has 1-For-1 Mains Till 13 June

Tokyo, Taipei and Bangkok have their own picturesque 2D cafes, and now we finally have one too!

A new addition to the Insta-worthy cafe scene in Singapore, Cafe Monochrome has a 2D illustration style interior that looks really trippy in the best way. They are also currently having a 1-for-1 promotion on their mains.

Stepping into Cafe Monochrome, you'll be surrounded by a cool optical illusion as if you've entered a comic book world.

The entire cafe is covered in white with black lines made to resemble sketch lines. The result is an interior that looks like a 2D illustration.

Even the 3D objects like furniture and lamps have been flattened out. The edges of the objects are covered in lines which makes them blend in to the 2D illusion.

We can imagine how striking the photos taken here would turn out, especially with someone posing in a brightly coloured outfit. While dine-in isn't an option at the moment, you could still pop by for a quick photo and dapao your meal at the same time. Or bookmark it for future cafe-hopping plans!

Speaking of meals, the cafe is having a 1-for-1 promo on all mains from now till 13 June 2021 from 10am to 8pm. Their mains are priced from $11 to $16 which makes each dish less than $10 after the discount.

The cafe serves Asian and Western fusion dishes. Some of their signatures are the Truffle Cream Pasta ($16) and Monochrome's Angel Hair ($14) which has a unique shrimp flavour and a crunchy texture along with delicate angel hair pasta.

They also have rice dishes like the Smoked Duck Donburi ($12), which has an onsen egg and a generous serving of umami.

Other menu items include with Mentaiko Pasta ($13) and Spicy Baked Fish ($12), a spicy tilapia served with truffle rice.

The cafe also offers specialty coffee, ice cream in a wide variety of flavours and an interesting you tiao with ice cream pairing, an Asian spin on churros with ice cream.
