But if you have no idea where to dine at, try Hathaway, a fairly new restaurant at Dempsey Hill serving European-Asian fusion dishes with elegant interior design.
Read on to find out more about this hidden gem!
Hathaway is housed in a colonial-style building just like the other restaurants at Dempsey Hill but get ready to be transported to Bali upon stepping in, thanks to the rattan and wood furniture that give off resort vibes.
The restaurant looks even more romantic in the night when the lights are turned on and they illuminate the lush greenery surrounding it.
The interior of the restaurant is an extension of the brand's approach towards their food - simple, modern and elegant.
The neutral colours matched with rattan furniture and warm lighting give off an inviting ambience and will put you at ease.
Touches of brass and the terrazzo countertops add colour to the space.
The restaurant also serves Indian, Malay and Peranakan food interlaced with French or Middle Eastern cuisine. The diverse menu will bring you on a gastronomic journey.
Here are some of the must-tries:
Ah Nya's Fish Curry ($32) is served with local Kuhlbarra Barramundi, fondant potatoes and a side of bread to soak up all the curry, just like how we usually dip bread into our curry at home.
The Lamb & Bone Marrow ($48) consists of a rack of lamb served with herb-crusted bone marrow atop sup tulang sauce.
The Octopus Bakar & Sambal Udang ($42) comes with charred polenta to add a smooth finish to every bite.
The Seared Scallops Genmaicha Pea Puree ($32) draws inspiration from Hakka Lei Cha and comes with preserved radish, soy foam and julienned ginger.
The Forager's ($32) is part of Hathaway's brunch menu available from 9am to 5pm. It's served with freshly shaved black truffle, trout roe and smoked salmon mousse on challah bread.
Prices for food range from $12 to $60 while drinks range from $4 to $48.
