Exciting times indeed. Potterheads have something to look forward to too, as there will be a new Harry Potter theme park opening in Tokyo within the first half of 2023.

Japan’s new Harry Potter theme park will be taking over the space of Toshimaen, a 94-year-old amusement park located in Nerima. Its grounds are just 30 minutes away from central Tokyo via public transport.
Toshimaen will be closing in August for construction of the new Harry Potter facility, and the expected completion will be in the first half of 2023.
Currently, artist’s impressions of Japan’s Harry Potter theme park have yet to be released, so the whole look of the place is still a mystery. However, it is said that it will be similar to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, where the production process of the film along with movie sets and costumes will be displayed.
Those who fear roller coasters need not worry - unlike The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Japan, this Harry Potter theme park will not come with any rides. Instead, will be more of an immersive experience that fans can walk through to experience the realm of magic in real life.
Needless to say, there will be lots of photo opportunities, with life-sized replicas of the film’s settings.
Hopefully they will sell their own rendition of Butterbeer too!
