SHE's Selina Recalls Painful Memories Of Being Called "Roast Pig" After Traumatic Accident

Selina Jen, a member from popular Taiwanese girl group S.H.E., recently opened up about the nasty remarks she received from netizens after her traumatic accident in 2010.

Thanks to an explosion that happened on the set of a drama she was filming in Shanghai in 2010, Selina suffered serious burns over 54 per cent of her body. Though she has recovered completely today, she is still far from perfect in netizens' eyes.

In a recent episode of Women 28 (女人28), the hosts and guest stars (internet-famous influencers) addressed the topic of cyberbullying. Selina then brought up how her journey to recovery has not been easy. While she has always tried to put up a strong and positive image, nasty comments from netizens calling her "roast pig" would still break her heart.

Selina went on to say that it has been almost a decade and she has completely recovered but she did not know why she would still get emotional when she brings this up.

Speaking to her co-hosts and special guests, Selina said:

"Yeah, it's true I was burnt badly. Thanks to my weight gain, I know I also looked like a pig. But 'roasted pig' are two words that hurt me a lot when the accident first happened. It's been almost ten years and I really think I've become stronger, but I don't know why I'm still crying."

"As influencers, you guys must have come across such comments online. I have been in the industry for almost 20 years and I believe this is something we can't avoid. The next time you get such sarcastic or hurtful comments, I just want you to know you're not alone because Selina has also been through it."
