Japan's cherry blossom season isn’t just about the blooms, it’s about the tasty and plentiful seasonal snacks too! ISETAN’s annual Sakura Matsuri is bringing peak spring vibes to our shores yet again with a lineup of pastel-perfect, drool-worthy treats. From delicate sakura mochi wrapped in edible cherry blossom leaves to towering strawberry matcha mochi ice cream, every bite is practically begging for a spot on your feed.

Ready to eat your way through spring? Let’s dive into our 8 top snack, drink and dessert picks at ISETAN’s Sakura Matsuri 2025.

1. Sakura Mochi

To start, grab some Sakura Mochi ($4) over at the Tomioka and Bashodo booth. This classic springtime treat has sweet red bean paste in a sweet, chewy pink rice cake. It also comes with a cherry blossom leaf that's perfect for the 'gram. They've also got quite the dazzling array of mochi options, including fan favourites like Mitarashi Dango, Warabi Mochi, Daifuku, and even Sakura Ohagi!

2. Strawberry Matcha Mochi Ice Cream

When it comes to a spring-themed Japanese food fair, strawberries are 100% on the menu. And for lovers of sweet treats like matcha, mochi, and ice cream, we've got fantastic news. You won't have to choose between them no more, because Tokio has actually combined them all into the towering Strawberry Matcha Mochi Ice Cream ($12)!

3. Jumbo Ikameshi

Seafood enthusiasts will totally want to fill up on Inaho's Jumbo Ikameshi ($17), a beloved Hokkaido speciality that features tender squid stuffed with flavourful rice. While you might feel the pinch of its price tag, the delectably sticky glutinous rice and generous portions of grilled squid more than makes up for it!

4. Matcha Fondant Chocolate Cake

When it comes to matcha, a little is never enough. That said, serious matcha fans definitely have to try Matcha An’s famous The World’s Richest Matcha Fondant Chocolate Cake ($39). As its name proclaims, the decadent dessert sets off intense matcha flavour bombs with every bite, thanks to its fudgy, luxurious matcha lava cake base — that also oozes rich, velvety chocolate from its center!

5. Candied Fruits

Is it even a food fair without Candied Fruit skewers? These ones feature whole fresh apples, strawberries, grapes, oranges and other fruits flown in from Japan, encased in a shell of crystal-clear sugar. Sounds too indulgent to finish on your own? Bring a friend or date along so you can share this (and take cute pics for each other)!

6. Mt Fuji Wagyu Skewers

The Nikusho Tanaka stall may be best known for its Mt Fuji Wagyu Rice Bowl ($18), but for those who want to try as many items as possible, pick their Beef Skewers ($7) instead! Not only does it come with the same mouthwatering premium wagyu, you'll get to save room for more snacks and keep your hands free for shopping (or sampling more snacks!).

7. Kumamon's Ningyoyaki

Kumamon-shaped edibles? Sign us up! Bashodo's stall set us off into giggles when we saw it, and you'll see why once you step right up to check out these bear-shaped goodies. Available with Red Bean Paste, Custard Cream, Sweet Potato, Chocolate and Cheese fillings, each Kumamon's Ningyoyaki ($5) is googly-eyed, silly and fun on the outside, while tasting warm and satisfyingly savoury-sweet on the inside.

8. Strawberry Milk
