TikTok-Viral Egg Rice From Bangkok Is Now In Singapore
You've salivated at the lushious, runny eggs on TikTok, and now this viral Bangkok sensation has landed in Singapore, served from a humble hawker stall in the Ang Mo Kio heartlands. Playfully named Running Egg, the stall was founded by a local banker who teamed up with two chefs from Hereduan - the original Bangkok restaurant behind the dish - to recreate the authentic dish.

The menu features four signature egg rice dishes from Hereduan, Pork Jowl ($7.80), Moo Ping ($7.80), Prawn ($7.80), Chicken Basil ($6.80), as well as a Singapore-exclusive Luncheon Meat ($5.80).
Each dish is topped with eggs that's not quite an omelette or scrambled eggs, but an uber-soft and almost wet egg with separated yolks and whites. A whopping four eggs are poured over the rice so every bite is soaked in eggy goodness. A sprinkling of fried garlic bits add a delicious aroma that pairs perfectly with the proteins and egg.

The Singapore version of the runny eggs has been tweaked to fit local palates, so they're not as salty as their Thai counterpart. They had a comforting taste that reminded us of home-cooked food, but wasn't as savoury, fragrant or creamy as we'd hoped. Still, for 8 bucks or less, this is a thoroughly satisfying meal that's worth a try if you're in the area.

For a more substantial meal, you can get add-ons of meats ($2 to $4).
