Hollywood star Drew Barrymore blew the internet, well at least in Singapore, with her latest TikTok video showing her enjoying popiah and a plate of kangkung at Maxwell Food Centre.

In the TikTok video, she’s rocking a blue tee, bare-faced, and happily eating. She captioned it “Eat and yap” and added “This and yap” in the video itself. But what really caught netizens’ attention was the familiar setting behind her.

Although the clip plays to music with no dialogue, you can see Drew chatting with someone while enjoying her food. Despite fans thinking she’s in Singapore right now, it seems Drew left a while ago. According to Travel Weekly Australia, Pei Shyuan Yeo, founder of Singapore’s Everyday Tour Company, said she guided Drew on a food tour back in August.
Yeo mentioned that Drew loved activities like shopping for vintage looks at Haji Lane and getting her first henna tattoo in Little India.
“Given her down-to-earth attitude and ability to connect with people from all walks of life, the food tour at a local hawker (centre) was also another highlight for her.” Yeo shared.
A selfie with Yeo shows Drew in the same outfit as the TikTok, complete with her red sunglasses. The photo’s background seems to be Maxwell Food Centre, hinting that the video might have been filmed during her August trip.
