BLACKPINK's Jisoo And Park Jeong-min Star As Lovers In New Zombie Drama 'Newtopia'; First Look Revealed
K-pop star Jisoo from BLACKPINK is gearing up for a highly awaited return to acting. She'll be starring in Coupang Play's new zombie K-drama Newtopia, alongside Korean actor Park Jeong-min.

Newtopia centres on Lee Jae-yoon, a soldier, and his girlfriend, Kang Young-joo, as they try to find each other in a Seoul overrun by zombies.
Park Jeong-min, known for his roles in Netflix's K-drama The 8 Show, Smugglers, Deliver Us from Evil, and Start-Up, takes on the character of Lee Jae-yoon, a military man facing an uncertain future while Jisoo, who made her acting debut in Snowdrop back in 2021, plays Kang Young-joo, Jae-yoon’s girlfriend who has just landed her first job after graduating from an engineering school.
First look at Newtopia
Newly released photos capture Jae-yoon (Park Jeong-min) reacting in shock as he encounters a sudden zombie outbreak during his military service. His subordinate, In-ho, portrayed by Im Sung-jae, looks even more frightened, hinting at the danger they're in.

Another image shows Young-joo (Jisoo) in a seemingly peaceful alley, adding to the suspense of the series.

Director Yoon Sung-hyun, known for the film Bleak Night, is making his drama debut with this series. The script is co-written by Han Jin-won, who won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Parasite, and Ji Ho-jin, who wrote the action-packed A Shop for Killers.
Newtopia is set to premiere in 2025.
