Clarke Quay is home to lots of awesome food spots, like Home Singapore with its all-day brunch and riverfront views, or Ember Restaurant's array of woodfired dishes and stunning floral interiors.

But for those who are on the hunt for someplace with fresh and unexpected menu options, X marks the spot! And by X we mean Chef X, a newly launched restaurant tucked away inside Clarke Quay Central.

We're not kidding when we say this one is a hidden gem since it's located in a nook at the very end of the mall's third floor. Customers will have to navigate past some ongoing renovation to get there, but the walk is well worth it; what looks at first glance to be a regular 24-seater eatery has quite the interesting twist on its menu (or shall we say, menus).

Every 4 to 8 weeks, Chef X brings in a new resident chef with their own unique concept. That means you can expect to see and taste something different here every time you visit! All of these chefs have only run home-based businesses prior to their stint at Chef X, and will be running a brick-and-mortar restaurant for the first time.

Excited to taste their creations? Read on to see the brands slated to take up residence here in the coming months:
