Shake Shack Singapore Collaborates With Michelin-Starred Candlenut For A 1-Day Only Menu
The worlds of fine dining and fast food have collided in an exciting collab between Shake Shack and Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant, Candlenut.
Shake Shack's culinary director Mark Rosati worked with Chef Malcolm Lee of Candlenut to create a Peranakan-inspired menu consisting of a Buah Keluak Burger and Curry Fries. And what makes this special menu feel even more exclusive is that it's only available on one day - 5 November from 11am until they sell out - at the 89 Neil Road shack.
The Buah Keluak Burger ($12.90) features the classic juicy Angus beef patty we all know and love with a unique Candlenut touch. The patty is covered in buah keluak and topped with chicken curry sauce, cucumber, a fried egg, American cheese, diced pickles and ikan bilis sambal. All this is sandwiched between a potato bun toasted with garlic butter.

Reminiscent of nasi lemak, this Buah Keluak Burger had the distinct comforting quality of Peranakan food with a refined edge. The Nyonya flavours were well-balanced and rich but not as potent or spicy as typical Peranakan grub you'll find at humble eateries.
Complete your meal with the Curry Fries ($5.20) which was created in tribute to one of Candlenut's signature dishes - Mum's Chicken Curry. The crinkle cut fries are seasoned with a secret blend of curry powder and salt that gave it a subtly spicy and highly addictive kick.
