YUN NANS Opens A New Garden-In-A-Restaurant At ION Orchard With 50% Off The Total Bill On 2 Days
It can be tricky settling on a dining spot that appeals to all age groups from grandparents to the Gen Zs, but there's a new contender in town - YUN NANS' latest outlet at ION Orchard.
This is the Yunnan restaurant chain's fourth outlet in Singapore, boasting a gorgeous garden-inspired interior and new dishes.
Ambience at YUN NANS ION Orchard
The modern yet lush interiors are inspired by the Ancient Tea Horse Road, featuring foliage motifs and potted plants creating a garden-like environment.

The tables are laid out in a winding pattern reminiscent of the trading routes, with plaited rattan accents and walls of different brown gradients.

New Dishes at YUN NANS ION Orchard
The restaurant has also launched newly created Yunnan-style dishes with a modern take.
A limited-time Mother's Day special in 2021, the Steam Pot Chicken Soup with Lily Bulb ($32.90) is now back and staying as a permanent menu item.

Cooked without any water at all, the soup is created by pressure-steaming black feet chicken and fresh lily bulbs imported from Yunnan. The result is as expected, a highly potent and nourishing soup with a teensy hint of perfume.

Another new item I'd recommend is the Claypot Rice with Minced Beef and Crispy Red Beans ($24.90), where the ingredients are served separately so diners can customise their own mix.

Now, it didn't actually have that smoky scorched rice taste we'd expect from claypot rice, but flavour-wise, it was excellent.

A quintessential dish worth a try is the Steamed Cod with "Mei Cai" ($31.90) a silky and delicate fish on top of preserved vegetables with a solid sour kick.

A surprising highlight of the meal is the returning Lychee Prawn Ball ($20.80). Thankfully, the "lychee" in its name is just a reference to its appearance. These little bite-sized delights are made of prawns hand-beaten to a silky paste then deep-fried.
They're like fish balls but uber crunchy yet not greasy, and with a juicy and fragrant prawny chew.

Other new dishes include the Pomelo Salad with Osmanthus Dressing ($10.90), Braised Fish Maw with Wild Porcini Mushroom ($42.80/$52.80) and Hotplate Milky Tofu with Spicy Garlic Sauce ($16.80).
Opening Promotion at YUN NANS ION Orchard
I find YUN NANS' prices a tad high for the portion size, which makes their opening promotion all the more worth braving queues for. On 9 and 10 June 2022, dine-in customers will enjoy 50% off their total food bill at YUN NANS ION Orchard.
