The ROMI Dream Skin Tint By Fashion Influencer Yoyo Cao Gave Me Dewy & Natural-Looking Skin
Fuss-free and pared down beauty routines are all the rage, now that we’re going mask-free and re-embracing makeup. Meet the Dream Skin Tint (S$49), the multi-tasking debut product from Romi Beauty, a new beauty brand that’s fast approaching cult-status even though it launched barely months ago.

Romi stands for “dew of the sea” and is the brainchild of social media darling and fashion influencer Yoyo Cao, together with fellow entrepreneurs Arissa Cheo and Lin Ting. The romantic-sounding name takes its cue from the founders’ belief that like the boundless seas, there’s no end to what one can do. True to its name, the brand does plenty. Not only are the products carefully formulated with high-quality active ingredients, they’re also free of nasties like parabens, phthalates, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, and gluten.

The ethos for uncomplicated beauty is evident in the Dream Skin Tint, a multi-tasking marvel that works as moisturiser, serum, and sunscreen. The product arrived in a nifty and sustainable packaging that resembled a folded box, along with a bunch of cute stickers. Inside laid the skin tint, which is bottled in a recycled glass pump bottle complete with a twist lock to ensure product freshness. Each pump deposited just the right amount of product, with two to three pumps sufficient for my entire face. Light as a feather, the sheer formula melted into my skin with a few swipes and can be easily layered for a fuller coverage.

While the shades are rather limited—just four are available, the formula is sheer enough to adapt to most skin tones. Being slightly tanned, I chose the medium shade, which worked well enough to even out my skin tone. Despite having combination skin with an oily T-zone, the tint kept my skin looking dewy and fresh all day. A true multi-tasker, the product comes with SPF 50 PA+++ so that you can skip the sunscreen, along with skin-loving ingredients like niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid, camellia sinensis leaf extract, prebiotics and probiotics, and more. To complete my look, I filled in my brows, drew eyeliner, added a bit of cream blush, and my favourite red lipstick.

Having worn it both through a full work day and even a sweaty gym session, I can attest to the fact that the skin tint feels weightless and doesn’t smudge one bit—not even on my mask!
