Crazy cat lady who loves afternoon tea, kawaii Japanese fashion, and all things Sanrio.

It’s been a couple of years since the explosion of the 2D cafe trend - where cafes are given a black-and-white colour scheme and cleverly designed in such a way that makes them look like comic books. Hot on their menu is their new Comic Cake ($9.80), an actual edible sliced cake that looks like it came straight out of a webtoon! This “2D” effect is mainly achieved by outlining the various components of the cake with chocolate icing, which gives it a brushstroke-like appearance.

This edible optical illusion is a soft and fluffy vanilla angel cake layered with chantilly cream, and bits of mango and strawberry. It’s said to be a limited edition item, so try it before it gets taken off their list of offerings!
