Ocean Tea Bag is a Japanese tea brand that specialises in teabags with adorable and quirky designs, mostly inspired by pets and wildlife. While the concept seems simple, there is much attention given to even the tiniest of details, including the teabag tags.

For designs featuring animals living in forested areas, the teabag tags usually come in the form of leaves or plants - as shown with the above racoon and panda designs.

The tags also come as animal-shaped cut-outs - almost as though you’re having a little friend accompany you as you munch on your breakfast or take a midday break.

Other than adding a welcome pop of colour to one’s teacup, many of these teabag tags are much larger than your regular variety, thus allowing you to sip with ease without worrying about them falling into your beverage and getting soaked.

Ocean Tea Bag has a website, but you’ll likely need a third party forwarding service in order to ship their products from Japan. Luckily, we’ve also found them on Japan-based online store OMG Japan, which ships to Singapore.

These adorable tea bags don’t come cheap - they’re mostly priced at $33.62 for a pack of 4 - but they’ll make a great gift for a tea-lover and will certainly bring a smile to the recipient’s face! OMG Japan's shipping costs around USD10 (~S$13.50), so we’d recommend buying a couple of packets at a go or combining orders with friends to even out the cost.

You can try hunting for them at physical stores in Singapore, though they’re probably going to be rare finds. We remember spotting a limited range at Oosh! Nosh!
