There is no denying the fact that our society is changing but certain things make us believe that there is a long way to go like blaming a woman for a man's failure. The best example of this is Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. The lady was blamed and criticized every time Virat didn't perform well. However, this time Sunil Gavaskar controversial comment blaming Anushka for her husband's poor performance is going viral. In a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, Virat lost two important catch and once again people started discussing his performance which is fair but dragging Anushka in between is not.

During the match Gavaskar said, "Inhone lockdown mein toh bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai."

Check out the video:

These words didn't go down with many who slammed the former cricketer and also demanded o remove him from the commentary panel.

Anushka also got furious and also asked explanation from Gavaskar. She wrote, "That, Mr Gavaskar, your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her for her husband’s game? I’m sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commentating on the game. Don’t you thing you should have equal amount of respect for me and us?"

She added, "I’m sure you can have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husband’s performance from last night or are your words only relevant if you use my name in the process?"

She concluded, "It’s 2020 and things still don’t change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping statements? Respected Mr Gavaskar, you are a legend whose name stands tall in this gentleman’s game. Just wanted to tell you what I felt when I heard you say this."

Gentle reminder for all those blaming Anushka for Virat's performance, it's 2020, grow up.
