Janmashtami 2020: Celebrate The Birth Of Lord Krishna With These Melodious Songs 

Janmashtami is a festival that is celebrated all over the country to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. This year  the day falls on August 11. According to the Hindu Mythology, on this day, Lord Vishnu incarnated on Earth as Lord Krishna to kill demons. He was born in a jail in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This is known to all that Lord Krishna's parents, Devaki and Vasudeva were imprisoned by evil king Kansa as a fortune teller predicted that their eighth son will bring his end. He put his sister and brother-in-law in jail and killed his son one-by-one until Lord Krishna was born. On the night he took birth, vasudeva took him to Vrindavan to protect him.Krishna was brought up  by Yashoda.

On this day, people observe fast and worship Lord Krishna. As he was born at midnight, people worship him at that time only. Temples across the country get decorated, devotees sing bhajans and pray for the well-being of their families.
