Powerful & Emotional: Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 Is A Story Worth Telling
It is not easy to make a film on a person who has been an inspiration to many. Thus, when it was announced that a film will be made on mathematician Anand Kumar, people didn't know what to expect. Actor Hrithik Roshan looked different in the trailer but movie lovers were still unsure if he will justify the role. Now, the film has finally released. Is it worth watching? Let's find out. First, let's talk about Anand Kumar. He is a genius mathematician who runs an institute called Super 30. He prepares meritorious but destitute students for competitive examination. His journey has been nothing but inspiring.
The film starts with a flashback where we get to see Anand (Hrithik) going door-to-door for sponsorship as he gets a seat in the University of Cambridge but due to his family circumstances, he is forced to sell papads. But, it seems like destiny had some other plans for him. Lallan Singh (Aditya Srivastava) discovers him and offers a teaching job at a coaching centre for IIT. Anand has a change of heart after he realises that there are many meritorious students who give up on their dreams due to their financial problems. Thus, he leaves his luxurious job and starts an institute to help them.

Hrithik tries hard to look convincing as Anand but his dialect fluctuates. In some of the scenes, he makes us feel the pain and in the other one, we catch him shyly hiding his smile after seeing a girl. Obviously, his hard work is visible but the brown make-up doesn't cut it. Mrunal Thakur looks delightful on the screen. However, she doesn't have much to do. Sometimes, while watching the film you feel that there was no need to focus on Anand's love life. Another best thing about the movie is Pankaj Tripathi. He plays the role of an education minister who also runs a coaching business. It goes without saying that he is one of the most talented actors of the industry and this time also, he didn't disappoint us. Every time he comes on the screen, it is hard to take eyes off him. Despite having a small role, he manages to make an impact.

Filmmaker Vikas Bahl has earlier given us an amazing film, Queen. To make Super 30 commercially viable, he added little drama to it. Unfortunately, he got a little overboard with it. Some may like it but there might be people who will feel that a few scenes could easily been removed.

Just like any other Bollywood film, Super 30 has its own share of flaws. You may not find Hrithik convincing enough. Though the film is a true story, it has not been shot in real locations. So, you won't find the essence of Patna.
However, it is the story of an extraordinary person that deserves to be seen. The movie is about dreams, success and hard work, move over technicalities and give it a watch. If you are an IIT aspirant or an engineer then you will surely relate to this film.
