India is a country that is obsessed with B-town celebs and they have a lot of influence on the audience of our country. Since they have such a huge onscreen presence, the general public is always looking at each & every move of the celeb. With such power comes great responsibility and it makes it much more valid for them to bring it to use in a good form. There are only a handful of people out there who realise the fact that there is so much to do for the society and some celebrities have been speaking about it.

On the occasion of Dusshera, we have gathered a list of seven celebrities who taught us about charity work and how to help others in need, physically or financially. These stars have done all they could by supporting welfare programs and foundations and are still not taking their fame for granted. PeeCee runs her own foundation which is called, 'The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Education and Health' which provides education to the underprivileged children. Priyanka has been closely working with the team of UNICEF since 2006 and donates 10% of her annual income to the foundation. She is also the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and also a member of 'Save the Girl' campaign. Priyanka has also decided to donate her organs after death to create awareness on organ donation.

Deepika after battling depression herself decided to set up a foundation called ‘The Live Love Laugh Foundation’ to raise awareness about mental health in India. Her foundation focuses on psychological disorders and how to change the social stigma on such issues. DP is also the brand ambassador of the NGO Indian Psychiatry Society, and later launched a campaign called #DoobaraPoocho. The beauty with a big heart also took part in the World 10K Bangalore Marathon, which raised money for over 80 NGO’s.

The amount gathered was donated to a foundation called Smile Foundation which helps underprivileged children. Sonam is also the brand ambassador of Cuddles Foundation, a charity that strives to fulfil the nutritional requirements of children diagnosed with cancer. She has been spotted spending time with the kids and also hosted a grand dinner for the kids to raise money.

Kalki has always been ahead of all in using her great acting skills and speaking about gender violence and inequality. She earlier came out with a satirical video known as. 'It's Your Fault', wherein they took a different path to speak about the situation of rape victims. She also did a solo act on India Today Conclave 2017, to perform on the serious issue of women abuse. In one of her interviews, Kalki said, "No gender is fairer than other. Women are not doormats. We are equivalent to men. It is just that we have different bodies and different biological needs. We have capacities which should be celebrated and rewarded in the society."

Jackie is not only an animal lover but also an animal activist who signed a petition by PETA to ban the sale of animal-tested cosmetics and products in India. On behalf of PETA, she also initiated to end horse-drawn carriages in Mumbai and to fasten the process of the transfer of a neglected elephant to a safe sanctuary in Colombo. PETA also awarded her with 'Woman of The Year' title for her love towards animals. She also initiated the campaign 'Jacqueline Builds' during the Tamil Nadu floods wherein she had set a goal to build homes for the homeless.
