Mukjja is a no-frills Korean-Chinese restaurant located at Novena, but don't be fooled by its simple decor because the quality of their food certainly makes up for it.

They are known for their jjajangmyeon which comes tossed in aromatic and savoury black bean sauce, jjamppong (Korean spicy seafood noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork).

Their black bean paste is cooked with a generous amount of shallots over high heat to achieve a fragrant sauce.

And of course, a jjajangmyeon meal is never complete without ordering a side of tangsuyuk - just like what you often see in K-dramas! Their tangsuyuk uses thin pork strips which are coated in a sweet and sour sauce, and will complement the black bean sauce noodles perfectly.

We recommend getting Mukjja's Sweet & Sour Pork Set that can feed two to three pax. Set A ($40) gives you the best of both worlds, as you will get a bowl of half jjajangmyeon and half jjamppong, and a full plate of tangsuyuk.

Try the Ginseng Chicken Soup ($25.80) if you are craving for something hearty and soupy.

The Fried Chicken with Garlic Sauce ($32 for small, $58 for large) is also one of their more popular dishes. It's spicy and crispy - sure to tantalise your tastebuds.
