New Xpark Aquarium In Taiwan Uses Technology To Create Unique & Insta-Worthy Exhibits
After five years of planning with Japanese theme park operator Yokohama Hakkeijima Inc., the new Xpark aquarium in Taiwan has finally opened its doors on 7 August. Looking at the dazzling photos by visitors, it's a must-visit destination for Instagrammers who can't say no to an Insta-worthy attraction.
The aquarium is located in Taoyuan city which is about 40 minutes away from Taipei by train.

Spanning over 14,000 square metres and housing over 400 animal species, Xpark sets itself apart from others through its use of digital technology to create a unique and immersive experience. The aquarium will also recreate the temperatures, humidity, and even aromas to mimic different wildlife environments, making you feel like you're actually there.
There are four main zones where you can bask in the sight of stingrays, penguins, jellyfish, and many more marine creatures.
Formosa

The Formosa zone is filled with diverse marine life on display with music playing several times a day. The theme song is produced by Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, well-known for his collaboration with Hayao Miyazaki on Studio Ghibli films.
Diving in Coral Sea

This zone has a spectacular 180-degree view of beautiful coral reefs and a light projection that would make a stunning photo backdrop.
Rainforest Adventure

Step into a warm and humid environment that mimics a rainforest at this zone. Surrounded by giant trees, you will see all kinds of sea, land and air animals that inhabit the rainforest.
Healing Jellyfish

This exhibition area is filled with jellyfish illuminated by different colours, creating a magical kaleidoscopic space. There is also a jellyfish laboratory where visitors can learn about the life cycle of a jellyfish.
Tickets are priced at NT$550 (~S$25.64) for adults, NT$250(~S$11.65) for children and free for children under 4.
