Animal Crossing Fan Recreates Every Iconic Scene From Spirited Away & Other Ghibli Movies
Some Animal Crossing players are fully focused on building their virtual islands to a T, while others use the game as a means of having virtual dates with their partners while separated during quarantine.
For Japanese user Tsukimaro (@HUb0E61kOpP3F0a), Animal Crossing is a way to bring her favourite movies to life. She has recreated every single iconic scene from Studio Ghibli’s top film Spirited Away, along with a few others like Kiki’s Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke.

Looking at Tsukimaro’s virtual Spirited Away universe is almost like walking through the film itself. You’re sure to recognise the scenes featured if you’ve watched the movie.
These are mainly posted in order, starting with Chihiro’s parents going crazy over food, and Chihiro meeting Haku on the red bridge.

Then comes Yubaba’s office and the cute little soot balls...

...And the moment Chihiro discovers that her parents have transformed into pigs after gorging on all that food!

There’s also the heart-wrenching part where Chihiro tries to save Haku by forcing him to eat a medicine ball.

Of course, you can’t leave out that unmistakable train scene featuring No Face. Notice how No face has been creatively made out of a shirt, since he does not have a proper human head.

Other than Spirited Away, Tsukimaro has also created other Studio Ghibli-inspired Animal Crossing landscapes, including that of Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke.

It’s amazing how much attention to detail has been given, and it must have taken Tsukimaro plenty of time to get these done up so nicely. To view more of her work, check out her Twitter account where she posts regular updates.
