Other than feeling all excited to finally marry the love of your life, brides-to-be also deal with a lot of stress before and during their big day.

As a bride-to-be yourself, refer to this checklist before your wedding day to make sure you have everything, regardless of big or small, in check to achieve the best day ever. Being prepared is the best way to reduce stress.

Read on to find out more!

#1 Check your wedding dress one more time

You can never be too careful! Your wedding dress is the highlight of your big day other than yourself so make sure to check your dress again and again, especially one day before your wedding. Look for any tears or obvious imperfections and we recommend putting it on so you can see if any last-minute adjustments need to be made for it to fit you perfectly.

#2 Prepare an emergency kit

This list might look a little overwhelming so just use this as a reference for your very own emergency kit. It's true that it's better to be safe than sorry so remember to prepare an emergency kit that might just save the day on your wedding day!

Some of the must-haves are: eyedrops (especially for those who wear contact lenses), your usual medication, tampons or pads, mini sewing kit, plasters, comfy slippers, a bottle of water and some snacks.

#3 Eat a healthy meal

Even though it's tempting to binge eat to de-stress or succumb to your junk food cravings before your big day, it's really important that you don't do so! Imagine eating your favourite mala xiang guo the day before and having to head to the bathroom every hour on your wedding day - that should be reason enough to stop you from eating that bowl of unhealthy food.

Instead, indulge in healthy foods such as fruits and salads that will keep you energised the next day.

#4 Pamper yourself

The best part of being a bride-to-be is getting to pamper yourself unapologetically! Go for that mani and pedi, facial session or massage to help you look and feel your best on your big day. Remember to put on a sheet mask the night before to get supple and glowing skin the next day.

#5 Hair and makeup trial

Get your hair stylist and makeup artist to let you have a look at what your hair and makeup will look like on your big day. It's best to try them out so that you can see if they suit you or not. You wouldn't want to have to argue with them or not be able to look your best on your wedding day so get these settled beforehand.

#6 Practise walking in your high heels

Many brides-to-be love investing in a pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choo heels for their wedding day but if you are going to wobble with every step you take, what's the point, right? Make sure to practise walking in your high heels a few days before your wedding so that you and your feet get used to the new shoes and height. This also allows you to know in advance if any part hurting your feet so you can make adjustments.

#7 Stick to your usual skincare routine

This is extremely important! You might be tempted to use that new moisturiser your friend recommended but it's best you try it after your wedding. Before your wedding day, make sure you stick to your usual skincare routine and products. Don't take the risk by introducing your skin to new products which may break you out because nobody wants a big zit on their face on their wedding day!

#8 Exercise moderately

Do some simple exercises or stretching that won't strain your muscles too much before your big day. It will help to reduce stress and let you sleep better.

#9 Thank the people who have helped you

Take the time you have before your wedding to thank everyone who have helped you throughout the planning to execution stage of your wedding. It will definitely be hectic on your big day which might make you forget to thank the ones most important to you, so the best time would be a day before the wedding. If you don't have time to write thank you notes, a short text message will do.

#10 Sleep early

This sounds like a no-brainer but brides-to-be often feel so anxious that they can't fall asleep. Some tips to help you fall asleep earlier and faster are: stop using your phone at least an hour before bed, make sure your room is dark enough and use an eye mask or ear plugs to remove any distractions.

We hope these useful tips will help you look forward to your big day!
