Here's What We Know About "Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures" So Far
Even if you don't really watch dramas, you would have definitely heard of "Story of Yanxi Palace". The mega hit 2018 Chinese historical drama that revolved around the lives of those living in the palace broke records when it was released, accumulating more than 15 billion streams in China!
It had loveable characters, cunning villains, romantic relationships, strong friendships, heartwarming and sad moments that may have induced buckets of tears from its viewers.
Following the success of the drama, it seems like it won't be long before fans can delve deeper into the schemes and plots of palace life once again!

What is it about?

In this spin-off series, Wei Yingluo and Emperor Qianlong's daughter, seventh Princess Zhaohua, takes the lead by contending with palace intrigue and a vendetta against her family while navigating the treacherous terrain of romance.
It seems like the series will focus on a strong female lead, just like in Story of Yanxi Palace.
Who is acting in it?

Thus far, we know that Wu Jinyan who plays Wei Yingluo in Story of Yanxi Palace will be reprising her role in Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures. According to Netflix, "other cast and crew" from Story of Yanxi Palace will be returning too, but further details on who exactly will be acting in the new series was not made known.
What we do know is that the lead role of seventh Princess Zhaohua will be portrayed by Rain Wang Herun.

If you are a fan of Chinese historical dramas, Wang is not an unfamiliar face, having acted in a number of historical dramas such as Legend of Fuyao, Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace and The Story of Minglan.
Princess Zhaohua will be Wang's first lead role in a historical drama and we are excited to see what she has to offer!
