Transform Into Your Fave Korean Celeb From Just $29 At IWAN Studio's New K-Pop Idol Experience
Let's be real, nobody is doing it quite like iWAN Studio when it comes to themed photo studios in Singapore. Picking the perfect fit

We kicked off our visit by depositing our belongings in cute lockers, which are located in a classroom-themed set that looks just like the one from Korean variety series Knowing Bros. At first look, the studio is rather large and spacious with over 3,000 sq. ft. of sets and immersive backdrops to explore.

The K-Idol Makeover starts right away: this includes full-face makeup, hairstyling, 1 outfit of our choice, plus accessories like costume jewellery and matching shoes. Guests are free to take a tour around the costume section, or simply choose their fit from the easy-to-pick catalogue.

Most of these outfits are ultra-realistic replicas of costumes worn by popular K-pop idols, and even include a small selection for male idols. Yes, this means your brother/male friend/partner has no excuse to not join in the fun! There's no rush to select the outfit either, since you can have your makeup done in the meantime.
The hair and makeup process was the lengthiest part (it took roughly 45 minutes for my bare face and super-long hair to be made over), but the results were more than worth the wait.

While IWAN Studio's stylists really know their stuff and will recommend you outfits and makeup looks depending on your skin tone/body shape, I really liked how they respect the opinions of their guests. My stylist took my preferences into account — such as not removing my skincare and SPF, incorporating a brighter lip colour, and leaving my hair down into account — and the whole process was much more comfy and fuss-free than similar photo studio makeovers I've tried overseas in China, Korea and Japan.

Once you're done with your makeover sesh, go forth and snap pics at all the different areas available! The realistic performance stage, award show red carpets and fansigning areas are definitely the highlights, but don't miss out on the variety show setups on the side too.

For a less 'flashy' shot, you can also pose at the backstage set, on the staircase leading backstage, against the colourful schoolroom lockers, or even among the costume racks to commemorate your K-idol transformation experience!

Guests are free to go back and forth between the different sets in the studio and spend as long as they want in any area, so if you're suddenly struck with inspiration, you can always return to a particular set later to get that shot.

Besides all of that, my favourite part of the experience was the freedom to take my own photos and videos without any awkwardness. Since this K-idol experience operates as a selfie studio, you won't be stuck with the pressure of a fixed photographer or hovering staff watching you.
