After an extensive casting search in 2024 that saw over 30,000 hopefuls audition, HBO has selected three newcomers to portray the beloved characters:
- Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter: This Scottish actor is set to don the famous round glasses and lightning bolt scar. Dominic has previously appeared in the UK family comedy movie "Grow" and an upcoming BBC action-adventure series.
- Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger: Arabella brings her stage experience to the screen, having played the lead in "Matilda The Musical" in London's West End from 2023 to 2024.
- Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley: Alastair is making his major acting debut with this role, having previously appeared in an advertising campaign for Jersey Royal potatoes.
Behind the Scenes
The series aims to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's seven-book saga, with each season dedicated to one book. Filming kicks off in summer 2025, and the show should hit screens sometime in 2026.
