The Singapore campus of SM Universe is rolling out a 21-week flagship programme designed to sharpen your skills in singing, dancing, music production, and stage presence. It's basically everything you need to eat, sleep, breathe Kpop. And the best part?
If the thought of possibly training at the same company that produced EXO, NCT, and Red Velvet gives you goosebumps, you’re not alone. But, before you start planning your debut stage, there are a few things you should know.
Who can join?
Unlike some traditional Kpop academies, there’s no strict age limit here! However, most students will likely be between 13 and 18 years old. So, whether you’re a teen with dreams of performing or a young adult looking to refine your skills, this programme could be your big break.
How do you get in?

Of course, this isn’t just any dance class. you’ll need to pass an online audition to qualify. While details on the audition process are still under wraps, you can bet that talent, dedication, and stage presence will be key factors. So, if you’ve got what it takes to own the stage, now’s the time to start perfecting those vocals and dance moves!
What makes SM Universe special?
If you’re wondering what makes SM Universe different from your regular dance and vocal studios, here’s the tea:
- The original SM Universe Academy launched in Seoul in 2023 and offers a three-year programme with majors in producing, singing, dancing, modelling, and acting. In contrast, the Singapore campus is designed to fit around an after-school schedule, perfect for students who want to chase their dreams without dropping out of regular school.
- The program leads up to an exclusive one-week trip to SM Universe in Seoul, where top students will get the chance to audition with major South Korean entertainment agencies. No pressure!

It’s definitely an investment, but for those seriously considering a career in entertainment, it could be a priceless opportunity to learn from industry pros. Plus, with only 50 spots available in the pioneer batch, exclusivity is part of the package.
For those who aren’t ready to commit to the full course, there will also be short-term programmes available for anyone who just wants to hone their skills or get a taste of the idol training experience.
