Coldplay's 'Man In The Moon' Music Video Was Filmed Right In The Heart Of Singapore

2024 was a wild year for music fans in Singapore! Not only did Taylor Swift and Coldplay each play a whopping six sold-out shows, but Coldplay also secretly filmed a music video here—without anyone knowing.

While they were in town, the band shot the video for Man in the Moon, a track from the extended Full Moon Edition of their latest album, Moon Music. And guess what? The entire video is a love letter to Singapore, featuring familiar spots and a cast of vibrant, young locals.

Coldplay’s Singapore Adventure

The band shared that they wanted to film in a place they had never shot before. “While we were in Singapore, we shot the video and captured some of the amazing, young, vibrant people that we had met. We are interested in shooting things in places we have never filmed before and mixing people up as much as possible. It was really fun to have a kind of dance party out in the middle of the water, just us and the otters," said Coldplay.

Directed by Ben Mor, the video takes viewers through some of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks, from Marina Bay’s dazzling skyline to the lush greenery of Gardens by the Bay. But they didn’t just stick to the touristy spots—they also explored hidden gems like a cosy coffee shop in Geylang and a neighbourhood in MacPherson.

The music video doesn’t just feature stunning locations—it also highlights local talents from different backgrounds. Cosplayers, creatives, and free-spirited youths take centre stage, bringing their energy to the screen before gathering on a floating stage for an unforgettable performance with the band.
