Homegrown patisserie and restaurant Alice Boulangerie will come to mind when cravings for fresh bakes and whimsical desserts hit, but after a month-long revamp, it now serves as an all-day dining destination. Well-loved pastries, brekkie dishes and lunch staples are joined by a new dinner menu and plated desserts.
Ambience at Alice Boulangerie
And it's not just the food that's new, Alice Boulangerie's interiors have also gotten a compete makeover. In place of the previous light colour palette is a dark, moody atmosphere with sleek decor details and touches of nature. The dining space, inspired by a squirrel's habitat, feels upscale yet oozes warmth and cosiness. A playful squirrel-themed detail is the restaurant entrance's doorknob that's shaped like an acorn!

The meal starts on a high note with complimentary bread that's warm, pillowy-soft and uber fragrant. It's served with a decadent kombu butter.

Whet your appetite with sharing plates like the succulent Seared Foie Gras ($32) with fig and balsamic compote and a sprinkling of crushed pistachios. Something that's sure to be a crowd-pleaser is the Otak Prawn Croquette ($19) that has juicy halibut and tiger prawn otak encased in crunchy panko crust. It's delicious on its own and with the kaffir lime mayonnaise which has a comforting Thai taste.

One of the new mains on the dinner menu is the Sakura 'Cherry Blossom' Pork Loin ($60). This tender pork is marinated in honey mustard spices and herbs, and then grilled over binchotan. It's served with charred mustard greens, spiced apple puree, green peppercorn sauce and garnished with roasted hazelnuts and pickled golden raisins.

Our top pick is the Pork Belly Claypot Rice ($42). A server mixes and tosses the sizzling claypot ingredients at your table, and who doesn't like a bit of IG-worthy theatrics? This dish is not all show and no flavour though. It's covered in a delectable homemade mushroom kombu broth and generously packed with ingredients including salted fish, Chinese sausages, tender braised pork belly, grilled asparagus and preserved olive vegetables. Every bite has a wonderful smokiness and some of that coveted crispy rice from the bottom of the pot.

The daytime menu also has a new arrival - the Royal Mess ($29). As you might guess from its name, this burger is controlled chaos, in a good way! It comprises two housemade USDA beef patties with tortilla chips sticking out haphazardly, a drizzle of nacho cheese, kidney beans and jalapeño, all sandwiched between flakey croissant buns. The fun mix of flavours and textures is a blast for the palate, and it's fondly reminiscent of American-Mexican cuisine. Completing this dish is a side of addictive shoestring fries.

New Plated Desserts at Alice Boulangerie
For a sweet finale, choose from the cakes at the counter or go for the beautifully plated desserts that's just for the dine-in crowd. Pebbles ($22) features black sesame mochi and black sesame gelato on a bed of peanut butter crumble, peanut butter and raspberry jam, topped with dark chocolate stems.
If you have space for more, try Forest ($23), a deconstructed black forest cake. It's made with a 72% Araguani dark chocolate log filled with almond Chantilly cream and garnished with pistachio praline and kirsch-infused morello cherries. Accompanying it are dark chocolate gelato, sea salt dark chocolate crumble and cherry compote.
