Not only does this exhibition feature behind-the-scenes footage, sketches, and original costumes worn by Hollywood leading ladies like Marilyn Monroe, Margot Robbie, and Zendaya — but also those of Asian movie icons such as Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeoh, and our very own local star, Fann Wong!

Once visitors enter the gallery, they're greeted by a spectacularly pink display of costumes inspired by Marilyn Monroe's iconic Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend scene. This area doubles up as a photo spot, where you can pose for an extra glamorous fit check snap.

Another must-see section is the one dedicated to Mae West, a 1930s Hollywood screen legend known for her style, independence, and lighthearted bawdy double entendres. The display holding her bejewelled black gown, sculpted hat, and matching staff is quite an impressive sight!

Guests will notice that the wall colour changes subtly from room to room. These mark the different zones in the exhibition! The shades generally range from a light pink shade to a darker red.

Those who are familiar with Asian cinema will also enjoy browsing the spaces dedicated to Bollywood and Chinese films. We picked up interesting stories and got to view plenty of artefacts related to lesser-known actresses, like Meena Kumari and Gong Li!

There are also sections dedicated to female superheroes, as well as characters known for fighting against the patriarchy.

You can even have your very own goddess moment at the end of the exhibition, where various virtual booths are located. Named 'Goddess in the Machine', these interactive screens let you try on a series of futuristic digital filters or 'masks'. Make a recording of your own and save it via QR code to share on social media later!
Goddess: Brave. Bold. Beautiful. will run from 6 April 2024 to 11 August 2024.
You can grab tickets via the ArtScience museum's website here from $16.
