We were pretty floored by FairPrice Finest at The Woodleigh Mall, but the group's latest outlet at Clarke Quay takes the crown for the prettiest, and most all-round impressive, supermarket in Singapore. Situated within CQ @ Clarke Quay, the 14,000 sqft supermarket/hang-out spot offers exclusive food experiences in a conserved historical setting.

The space has all the original iconic features of the building, with a warehouse-inspired store layout and murals of the Singapore River enhancing the aesthetic and shopping experience.

Don't be fooled by the fancy interiors, though! Like all other FairPrice Finest supermarkets, this Clarke Quay outlet will retail the same range of daily essentials sold across all FairPrice stores at the same price point. In addition, it will also have a special focus on fresh produce from local farmers, exclusive and premium products, and other fun shopping zones like a Tong Garden 'Pick Your Own' kacang puteh kiosk experience.

The outlet will also offer a range of unique merchandise featuring designs by local artists themed around the area's history. The current line-up features the works of Kelly Ser, with her contemporary and kaleidoscopic depictions of traditional architecture on tumblers, tote bags and more.

The Grocer Bar, a swanky in-store bar area, will offer FairPrice Finest's extensive selection of beer, wine, and spirits right after purchase. Shoppers can also take a breather and relax at the counter seats and sip on a tipple. On the drinks menu are designer cocktails crafted in collaboration with brands such as Pernod Ricard Singapore and the homegrown Brass Lion Distillery. This includes heritage cocktails ($15 each) inspired by local favourites.

Pandan Cake was a delight for the 'gram and the taste buds. This fragrant and sweet concoction is made with Malibu coconut rum, Absolut vodka, egg whites, pandan paste and simple syrupa, then topped with pandan cake.

If you have foreign friends looking for a unique drinking experience, you know where to bring them!

There's also a food court-esque dining area, The Grocer Food Hall, in the middle of the supermarket. There are six food kiosks to choose from, each offering a Heritage Dish tied back to Singaporean flavours and a value dish perfect for those looking for an affordable meal in this pricey area.

Standouts include ATAVOLA's Arancini ($6.50), crispy little risotto balls filled with porcini, cheese, ragu and more, and Shinshima's delicious seafood offerings.

The food and drinks from any part of the supermarket can be enjoyed at any dining area from the bar and food hall to this stylish container and steps.
