Despicable Me 4 Trailer Released: Sofia Vergara & Will Ferrell Voicing New Villains
Following the blockbuster success of Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022, fans of Minions and the Despicable Me franchise has been eagerly waiting for the next instalment. Well, hold onto your Minion hats because the trailer for Despicable Me 4 has just been revealed, and it's everything we could have hoped for and more! For those who may not be familiar with the series, Despicable Me follows the adventures of Gru, a lovable supervillain turned spy turned family man, and his army of adorable yellow Minions. The films have captivated audiences of all ages with their heartwarming stories and hilarious characters.

Despicable Me 4 introduces new characters voiced by Will Ferrell, Joey King, Sofia Vergara, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, and Madison Polan. Ferrell voices Gru’s new nemesis Maxime Le Mal, while Vergara voices Maxime’s femme fatale girlfriend Valentina.

In the first film, Gru adopted three daughters, and in the sequel, he discovered romance with Lucy Wilde (voiced by Kristen Wiig). The third instalment, Despicable Me 3, delivered a surprising twist with the revelation of Gru's long-lost twin brother, Dru (also voiced by Steve Carrell). Moving forward in the fourth film, Gru and Lucy happily expand their family with the arrival of their son, Gru Jr.

Despicable Me 4 is directed by Chris Renaud, who is a co-creator of the Minions, and is produced by Illumination’s founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Brett Hoffman (executive producer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minions: The Rise of Gru). Scheduled for a Universal release, Despicable Me 4 hits theatres on Thursday, 4 July 2024. Check out the trailer below!
